What does it mean to run Instagram on autopilot?

Running Instagram on autopilot means a tool builds your posting plan, creates content in Instagram’s formats (post, carousel, reel, story) and keeps to the schedule. A person stays in charge: approving, editing or rejecting the suggestions.

In Socialu you decide how much the autopilot does: suggest only, create for approval, or full autopilot. Whether a post can go live on Instagram without your click also depends on what Instagram’s official API allows — which is why you’ll find the current status of each action below.

Account needed
An Instagram professional account (business or creator)
Formats
Photo post, carousel (up to 10 items via the API), reel, story
Who approves
You — by default nothing goes live without your OK

Plan

The autopilot maps out weeks ahead

Based on your goal (reach, enquiries, sales) it picks the mix of tips, projects, reviews and offers and spreads it across the calendar.

  • A 7–28 day plan
  • It fills free slots and leaves your own posts alone
  • Occasions and holidays in the calendar

Content

Captions and graphics in your brand’s style

The AI knows your offer, tone and colours from your brand settings. Fix any post with one sentence — “shorter”, “more casual”, “add the price”.

Getting started

How to start with Instagram

  1. Set a goal

Reach, enquiries or sales — the goal decides the mix of posts.

  2. Connect a professional account

A business or creator account. You can switch a personal account to professional in Instagram’s settings in a minute.

  3. Approve from the calendar

Review the suggestions, tweak them and approve. You decide how much the autopilot does on its own.

Questions

Instagram autopilot — questions

Is an Instagram autopilot allowed by Instagram’s rules?

Socialu connects only through Instagram’s official API (Meta) — no password logins and no simulated clicks. That is why some actions (such as music and stickers in stories) stay in the Instagram app.

Do I need a business account on Instagram?

Yes — the official API works with a professional account (business or creator). Switching is free and you keep your followers and posts.

Will Socialu publish a reel by itself?

Yes, if you turn on the full autopilot or approve a post with a scheduled time. The API does not support music from Instagram’s library — the reel goes out with the sound from your clip.

How many Instagram posts will the autopilot prepare?

As many as you set in the plan, within your plan’s limits. Instagram’s API allows up to 100 posts per day from one account — in practice businesses need a few a week.

What if I don’t like a post?

Tell it in one sentence what to change, or reject the suggestion. Socialu learns from your decisions — the next suggestions get closer to what you approve.
